Chapter 3
Xi Keqing's sudden, tearful breakdown startled Gu Yizhen, who instinctively reached out to cup her face. "Why are you crying?"
Xi Keqing instinctively leaned into her touch, wiping away tears that wouldn't stop flowing. She couldn't even speak, just let out a series of whimpers and sobs.
Mom, Mom, I finally got a real meal...
She was crying so hard, yet so relieved, that she hiccuped violently, nearly dislodging her tail and horns in the process.
Even when a succubus appeared human, they retained certain traits unique to their kind.
Their tails and horns, which humans could never possess, were absolutely forbidden from being revealed to humans.
Xi Keqing jolted, quickly stifling her sobs and forcefully suppressing the tail and horns that threatened to burst out. "I-I'm fine."
Pouting and holding back tears, she looked up at Gu Yizhen, her eyes glistening. "Can... can we continue?"
She wasn't full.
Gu Yizhen didn't answer. She looked at the hand the Alpha was holding, at the tear-streaked face still pressed against her palm. Though the gesture was meant to be appeasing, it was so natural that it carried no hint of flattery.
Unconsciously, Gu Yizhen extended her knuckles and gently stroked the Alpha's flushed lips.
The Alpha's slightly pursed mouth felt soft beneath her fingertips.
Could it be because it's her first time?
Otherwise, the Alpha's strange reaction was inexplicable.
Gu Yizhen didn't probe further. She wiped the tears from the Alpha's face and said, "Yes."
The scent of juniper and iris still swirled in the air. Even without Xi Keqing's request, it was far from over.
Xi Keqing's large eyes lit up at her permission. A large tear rolled from her eye and landed in Gu Yizhen's palm, then slid down her wrist.
Before the tear had stopped rolling, the Alpha leaned forward and kissed her lips.
Gu Yizhen parted her lips slightly, and the Alpha clumsily tangled her tongue with hers, deepening the kiss.
Xi Keqing was practically ecstatic.
She eagerly nibbled and suckled everywhere, and with every touch, delicious food materialized and fell straight into her stomach.
Moreover, if she just waited a little longer, even more satisfying and delicious food would appear.
It's food, all food!
Xi Keqing was so busy she didn't know whether to run here or there, flipping the Omega over and over.
She had no awareness that it was late at night, only the joy of her stomach filling up.
She failed to notice that the Omega was already growing tired and drowsy.
The intense and relentless pleasure stimulated Gu Yizhen's brain, leaving her almost no room to wonder why the Alpha was so obsessed with licking away the marks of their rut.
In her daze, the Alpha's kiss landed on her lips again, carrying a sweet fragrance of strawberry candies mixed with the scent of juniper.
Her pheromones surged even more violently than usual, but they had no effect on the Alpha, as if both of them were utterly ordinary.
Strawberry flavor... sour and sweet, so vibrant.
Gu Yizhen felt herself drifting into a trance, her fingers clinging tightly to the Alpha's smooth shoulders.
────────────
Dawn had broken.
The bright, clear sunlight, already high in the sky, squeezed through the gaps in the curtains, casting a few rays of light into the dim room.
In the center of the bed, two steady, peaceful breaths could be heard—the Omega, exhausted from the night's activities, and the little succubus beside her, sleeping soundly and contentedly.
The room's lights had been turned off only about an hour earlier, but before that, the two had spent the entire night in intimate embrace, enveloped in the Omega's rich pheromones.
Now, the pheromone concentration in the air was steadily declining, with no new emissions.
Everything seemed unnervingly peaceful.
Suddenly, the phone rang, shattering the tranquility. It rang tirelessly in an ignored direction.
On the bed, Gu Yizhen opened her eyes. Supporting her aching body, she sat up and reached for her phone, which lay discarded nearby.
The brief sleep hadn't eased her fatigue. Gu Yizhen unconsciously pressed her temples, her voice hoarse and uncertain as she answered.
"What is it?"
Her thick, raspy voice fell into the receiver and reached the Alpha, who lay sprawled beside her. The furry head burrowed into the pillow, and the body squirmed closer.
On the other end of the line, a grave voice replied, "President Gu, your body..."
Gu Yizhen glanced at the Alpha beside her and lowered her voice further. "It's fine. Just tell me what you need."
The other party seemed to have made a decision, his voice becoming more businesslike. "President Gu, Wensheng's compensation has been received, and all cooperation with them has been suspended. I've screened several qualified companies that are ready to be contacted at any time."
Gu Yizhen's voice grew even softer. "Good."
Hearing this, the other party inexplicably lowered his voice as well, asking softly, "President Gu, did you not use a suppressant last night?"
This was already a question bordering on privacy, but Gu Yizhen didn't reprimand him for crossing the line.
The voice on the other end of the line belonged to her personal assistant, Xie Changxun. Her physical condition was also within her management scope; this wasn't overstepping boundaries, but simply fulfilling his duties.
She knew what Xie Changxun was worried about.
More than a year ago, the accident had injured not only her legs but also her scent gland.
After the gland damage, her pheromones had become violent and chaotic, almost impossible to control independently, with a constant risk of losing control.
And in this situation, during last night's negotiations, someone from Wensheng Group had drugged her drink.
Ordinary suppressants had long been ineffective against her. Only the potent suppressants independently developed by Gu's had any effect.
However, due to the effects of the drug, the potent suppressants she carried failed to work.
After the incident, her assistant, Xiao Li, rushed her to a room and immediately called to request more potent suppressants.
But when the Alpha beside her barged in, Gu Yizhen told Xiao Li the suppressants had arrived but didn't open the door to retrieve them.
Since they were left by the door, Xiao Li returned to check on them shortly after. Seeing the paper bag containing the potent suppressants still hanging untouched on the doorknob, she anxiously pressed Gu Yizhen repeatedly, nearly resorting to forcing the door open.
Gu Yizhen stopped her.
At least now, she might not need those suppressants after all.
Gu Yizhen unconsciously touched the back of her neck.
Her body was covered in red swelling and bite marks, which itched intensely. The area around her nape gland was particularly sensitive.
Though this should have been extremely uncomfortable, she now felt a strange sense of relief.
Not only had the drug-induced loss of control subsided, but the damaged gland, which had been restless ever since the incident, seemed to have been miraculously soothed.
She said, "Hmm, help me investigate someone."
────────────
Xi Keqing woke up, turned over, and lay face down for a moment before slowly sitting up. She closed her eyes and sat on the bed, lost in thought.
After a while, she rubbed her eyes, still groggy, and felt that something was different.
Different from every day of the past three years.
Before her drowsy mind could process it, a cool, clear voice came from beside her: "Awake?"
The voice sent an involuntary shiver down Xi Keqing's spine.
She turned to see the Omega, who had somehow dressed and settled into a wheelchair. The electric wheelchair glided smoothly to the bedside as the Omega looked down at her.
As their eyes met—the Omega's amber, glass-like, phoenix-shaped eyes—the memories of last night flooded back, finally settling on the moment she had held the sleeping Omega, washed them, and lay down together in bed.
Xi Keqing suddenly clutched her stomach.
Ah, her stomach was full.
Unlike every other day, her first sensation upon waking wasn't hunger, but fullness.
It's good. My stomach is full.
It's actually full.
Xi Keqing's lips trembled, and tears began to fall again.
Waaah—
How strange.
I'm completely full.
Why am I still crying?
She looked up and met Gu Yizhen's slightly puzzled gaze. The omega's cold, beautiful face was etched with a clear chill.
"Why are you crying?" Gu Yizhen asked again.
Xi Keqing blinked, sending a string of tears flying. She immediately burst into louder sobs. "Waaah—"
Still crying, she scrambled to the edge of the bed, bare feet hitting the cold floor. She crouched down in front of Gu Yizhen's wheelchair.
Reaching out, she clutched the wheelchair. "Thank you so much, waah— You're such a good person, waah— Are you a god?"
Gu Yizhen lowered her head, watching the alpha cry with such genuine emotion before her. "Even gods don't get bitten like this by you," she said.
Xi Keqing froze, then looked up. Only then did she notice the red marks on the omega's neck, especially the swollen, angry marks spreading from the back of her neck.
They looked incredibly painful.
Xi Keqing choked, and her sobs intensified. "I'm sorry— I didn't mean to."
As if choked up, her crying became uneven, and despite her large frame squatting there, she looked utterly pathetic.
She clutched Gu Yizhen's wheelchair, sobbing uncontrollably, "I was just hungry, I didn't mean to... I'm sorry, waah..."
She looked up, her eyes brimming with tears, "Please don't be angry, okay? Waaah... I'll do anything. Can you give me food again?"
Gu Yizhen couldn't fully comprehend the Alpha's words.
Just as she still couldn't understand why an Alpha would cry and weep.
But she understood the Alpha's meaning.
The Alpha didn't want this to end here. The Alpha still wanted to be with her again.
Suddenly, Gu Yizhen raised an eyebrow slightly.
"Will you marry me?" she asked.
Xi Keqing, still sobbing, stared up blankly, her red-rimmed eyes wide.
Gu Yizhen reached out and gently stroked her lashes. The fluffy, damp lashes immediately blinked against her fingertips, sending a clear tingle.
"If we get married, I'll give you anything you want to eat."
